Precision casting of various steel alloys

Why investment casting process is named as precision casting process is that it can achieve near shape castings without or with less post machining. But actually for carbon steel investment casting, we always leave enough machining allowance for precision machining. The main advantage over sand casting is that precision casting can has less machining allowance. Frankly speaking, carbon steel precision casting has quite coarse surface and low dimension precision, thus post precision machining almost can't be avoid as purpose for demanding surface quality and dimension precision.

Cinda investment casting foundry has rich experience in steel precision casting. We can use three different casting ways to produce different kinds of steel castings. For high quality required stainless steel castings, we use silica sol casting process. And for inferior steel casting, we can use silica sol and water glass combined casting way. In the end, for the lowest grade carbon steel casting, water glass casting process is applied.

Precision casting is always used to describe lost wax casting process, because it can produce near shape casting with all kinds of meltable alloys. With high effective molding material, the near shape precision casting can be free from any machining with smooth surface quality and high dimension precision.
